Who is the Flower B
B is for Bev Barber the owner and founder of The Flower B.
Based at 126 Buxton rd, High Lane, I specialise in funeral tributes and flowers for all occasions.
My history
After leaving school I headed off to college where I gained a diploma in display and design this led me into the world of window dressing and merchandising, I soon progressed into a career in retail management working for Wallis, Selfridges and Evans to name but a few and there I stayed for many years.
After having my two children and the mile stone that turning 40 brings. In the summer of 2011 I had the realisation that time was passing me by and what would I really like to do with the rest of my life?. Whist styling out my 70’s themed party the bug bit me and Sparkles of Cheshire was born. Balloons, Chair covers and venue dressing were all on the list and I quickly realised that flowers needed to be there too. So I took myself back off to college to study floristry, never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought I’d do so well gaining a distinction for each module. I’m a qualified florist.
I worked part time in a local florist for a couple of years to gain experience whilst also working freelance under my original business name Sparkles of Cheshire. However the name just wasn’t working for me as my business was changing and growing more towards the funeral market. So in 2015 I took the plunge and change my business name to The Flower B, the amazing opportunity to gain my own studio came in 2017 when I moved my business inside Brian Sharples Funeral directors, High Lane.
I have created all the work you see on my site and thousands more, I believe in creating a fresh quality product whether it be for a special occasion or a sad farewell. If I can assist you any further please give me a call on 07985422181
Thank you
